Does Dragon Age Origins Require Internet?

Does Dragon Age ORigins require internet to INSTALL if you buy the CDs? My computers internet driver is F***** and i cant connect to the internet, but would like to buy this game.Does Dragon Age Origins Require Internet?
More and more games are requiring some kind of online activation in order to install or play a game.

The short answer is that you can install the base game.

The long answer is that if you attempt to use any of the official DLC add ons, including any bonus item codes that are available, sometimes in the retail packaging, then the game will constantly "phone home" to the EA Games Dragon Age servers.

This made me nuts. Not because the internet was not working on my system, but because the EA Dragon Age servers were having communication problems. It coughed out an error every 3 -5 minutes of game play which I had to click on to acknowlege... in the middle of a fight, when I was exploring, when I exited the inventory.... all the time.

This might happen if you install patches as well - not sure about that.

My recommendation is to buy the game - it is an excellent game and I believe that the developers have a gem here but for EA's game breaking DRM policy - but install a cracked .exe to run it.

This is what I did after EA support could not help me fix the connection errors and I've not had a problem with the game since. But then the cracked .exe file prevents it from phoning home.Does Dragon Age Origins Require Internet?
I don't think so. BTW I play this on my bro's ps3 and it's SOOO FUN!!

Whats the best class to be in dragon age origins?

i would like some of your opinions of the best best class to be in dragon age origins. and also what background and talents/ abilities they have.Whats the best class to be in dragon age origins?
I prefer rogue-Duelist or mage-Arcane Warrior.

Rogue is a damage dealing pro, and using the dual weapon skill tree becomes the most dangerous thing in battle, especially if you unlock the Duelist and Assassin specializations. As a rogue, I follow the tank around and attack whatever he is distracting, or anyone who goes after the mages. At higher levels, go right after elite/boss enemies and tear them apart while the tank keeps all the other enemies off your back. Put all your attribute points into Cunning since the Duelist gets to use Cunning to determine damage. Only use enough points in strength to get into good leather armor, and use a decent pair of weapons.

Mage, with the Arcane Warrior specialization is the best of warrior and mage combined. You get to use your magic skill to satisfy the strength requirement of armor and weapons and can still cast spells. Use Spirit Healer as the second spec to be a good backup healer to Wynne. At the top of the Arcane specialization, this is a very hard to kill character that's fun to play. Put all your attribute points into Magic until towards the end of the game when you put a few into Willpower. Wear less armor than the tank until higher levels.
I like human mage because you can just do the one sub class thing forgot what it is but it basically makes you a hand to hand fighter which is Bad *** cause you can still throw fire balls

But than again i like being a rouge and just being a archer using warriors as defenseWhats the best class to be in dragon age origins?
i personally like the Rogue (you can become a Bard!)
BrutesWhats the best class to be in dragon age origins?
fagosaurus. get a life man.

What is the difference between dragon age origins and dragon age origins: awakening?

IDK the difference.... plz tell me!!What is the difference between dragon age origins and dragon age origins: awakening?
Awakening is an expansion, so it's shorter. You will need Origins to play, you can also import your original character from that game in to the expansion.

Major differences are:

No romance

New companions

New specializations and skills

Runecrafting and armor runes

New conversation system

It's like quite a few rpg games such as some Final Fantasy where each opponent takes turns. Youtube some gameplay to help give you a better view. How do you fight in Dragon age Origins?
It's a point and click game. You can pause to plan out your strategy and move your character around. After that you are just clicking on attack or spell icons to execute them.

  • Is dragon age origins better than dragon age 2?

I think Origins is better as there is much more variaty in how you can play:you can go to many other city's in origins in 2 you can only go in one city and in 2 you can't change your party members armor in origins you can. OPINONS!!

thanks. Is dragon age origins better than dragon age 2?
I have to say that i still prefer Origins. The companions in DA2 was too shallow, Varric was the only one i felt lived up to the expectations. The fact that you couldn't change the armor on your party members was a bit annoying. The fact that you couldn't talk to your team mates while on quest was a bit stupid. And the game mechanics and interface (skills, attributes, etc...) was bit too simplified for my taste. The story was still good, i found it compelling and interesting. But i missed the sum up of the consequences of your actions at the end of the game which was in the end of both Origins and awakening.

I dont understand why they changed things that was good to begin with. Don't get me wrong, DA2 is a good game but not as good as Origins. So if they are to make a DA3 i hope they base it more on Origins, I wish to see more of the Grey Wardens (preferably being one) I would like it if they combined the two stories, taking the hero of Ferelden into the mess which the champion of Kirkwall started. Is dragon age origins better than dragon age 2?
i would say that they both have there moments i enjoy the gameplay of the 2nd one better but i enjoy the items and options menu but i would say that the 2nd one seems to be shorter then the1st one and to bring up the issue on thee party members i like changing the armor but i guess its simpliar then it was in origins and i did enjoy the massive map options you could go to and im sure there will be more DLC to be released to have the stroy and possible more party members

Is dragon age origins is worth a buy for the ps3 ?

please choose of these games that u most likely to suggest to me?

    DRAGON AGE ORIGINS

or FALLOUT # GAME OF THE YEAR ? please state your reason

and does the fallout 3 and dragon age origins lag on the ps3? and is it that big of a deal? or does it freeze occasionallyIs dragon age origins is worth a buy for the ps3 ?
    Depends what you want.

A really good Medieval Fantasy RPG = Dragon Age

Post Apocalyptic RPG = Fallout 3

    or..

A really hard game that tests your skills = Demon's Souls

I suggest you watch reviews for each game to make your choice. Fallout Game of the Year is glitchy, I am unsure if they fixed it yet. Apparently from Gamespot, Dragon Age runs better on PS3 than 360.

How to make your tank attack first in dragon age origins.?

OK kind of a noob question but I've had dragon age for about a week now and i want my tank to attack first so he has aggro but i have no idea how to make that happen. And of course when i attack first all the enemies come at me and i end up dying with or without a healer. so how do i have him attack first without the fear of me dying? By the way I'm playing a rogue archer too.How to make your tank attack first in dragon age origins.?
I do get what you mean (I play a rogue as well) The simplest solution is, to have your Tank enter a room first. If a room is stuffed with enemies, make sure you take control of the tank (Which will probably be Alistair) and have him walk into the room first. He will set off all the aggro and everything will attack him first.

This becomes less of an issue once your tank has Taunt. Even if your rogue accidently sets off an ambush, all you need to do is use Taunt to attract everything towards the tank.

*As a rogue, it would be useful to invest in Combat Stealth. It basically functions as a 'Vanish' and any aggro you may have will be severely reduced. Most of the time, enemies will outright forget you the moment you stealth and attack someone else.

  • Should I get Dragon Age Origins or Bioshock 2?

Hey I know bioshock 2 isn't out yet but I have like $80 on an eb games card. Dragon age is supposed to be amazing but I just beat bioshock 1 and the sequel might be cool. I liked fallout 3 a lot if that relates to dragon age but what should I get and why?Should I get Dragon Age Origins or Bioshock 2?
dragon age is not that good. you would be better off waitin and buying bioshock 2Should I get Dragon Age Origins or Bioshock 2?
While dragon age was a good game, fallout 3 was infinitely better and thus, not even comparable to dragon age. It is a good game to rent, if possible, but bioshock 2 would be the better choice if you enjoyed the story and gameplay of bioshock 1. Aren't you curious to see what's happened to rapture after 10 years? Not to mention the new plasmids you can experiment with.Should I get Dragon Age Origins or Bioshock 2?
Dragon Age Orgins is a pretty good game but the first Bioshock was amazing and received almost perfect scores so Bioshock 2 should be better. It would be most anticipated game of 2010 if God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII didn't come out this year.
I am enjoying the hell out of Dragon Age. So I guess it's really a crapshoot. You can go by reviews , by comments here or listen to friends.

But in the end you don't really know what "you" will like until you try them.

What is the difference between dragon age: origins and Dragon age: awekening?

Dragon Age: Origins is the main game.

Dragon Age Origins: Awakening is an expansion pack for it that starts 2 years after the events in the main game

Also, both games can be purchased as CDs in storesWhat is the difference between dragon age: origins and Dragon age: awekening?
Origins is the game CD you buy from the shops. Awakening is an optional add-on quest that can be purchased and downloaded from the Live market place (if you have the 360 version). Awakening is seperate storyline that occurs after the completion of the main Origins story line, although once downloaded you can choose to play it before if you so wish.

How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?

I am trying to get all of the romance achievements in Dragon Age and I am missing Leliana. I do not have options to "start" a relationship. I only have the whole "traveling minstrel story" option now. I've gone through and talked to her about those other dialogs, about her being in the Chantry and such. I don't have any idea of how to do this one. I have her approval up to 100% and everything. What the heck do I do?!How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?
once you have done her side quest you need to keep going back and forth to the camp site ( which is a pain) and just talk to her, even if its the same topics.sooner or later as you get through the main story line you will get the chance to romance her.you have done the hard part of getting her approval to 100%,so now its just a matter of time.hope this helps.have fun gaming. How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?
IF you are in a relationship with someone else she might not start the new dialog with you. IT could also be a glitch, happened to me on the 360 version, not sure which it could be for you.How to romance Leliana in Dragon Age Origins?
I believe you must progress further into the story. Giving scripted gifts like the Cute Nug can also initiate the sub-plot.
you need to complete her side quest once she opens up about her past and why she ran there will be a random encounter that you got to beat then it opens up her quest

Advantages to importing character in Dragon Age Origins: Awakening?

What are the advantages to importing your character from the original Dragon Age story? Are there any?Advantages to importing character in Dragon Age Origins: Awakening?
Start from scratch and you are an Orlesian Grey Warden transferred in to rebuild the order.

If you import, you continue your story character from Dragon Age Origins. This includes keeping your gold and any gear currently on you, or in the party inventory at the end of the battle with the archdemon. That's the main advantage. That's the only way to get some items for use in Awakenings.

Aside from that, it's just a matter of the storyline as you have directed it in Origins, and then it doesn't play the hugest role in Awakenings.

Ohgren makes some references to past events, whomever you left in charge of Ferelden makes an appearance (Alistair or Anora) as well as Loghain if he joined the Grey Wardens. It affects some dialog with Nathaniel Howe, since the Ferelden Warden in Origins personally killed his father.Advantages to importing character in Dragon Age Origins: Awakening?
I didnt notice that their were any extra perks to importing your character the only thing i saw is that i was stronger at the beginning because of my level but it does eventually catch up with ya. thats all i can think about. but i think you should import your character and play all the way through then just make a new one from scratch thats what i would do. Hope I helped.Advantages to importing character in Dragon Age Origins: Awakening?
The only advantages from importing a character is possibly starting at a higher level, carrying over extra items, and sometimes your characters stats will be permanantly boosted by the items you carry over, but I haven't had it happed to me.

She comes back anyway. Some of the deaths were ignored for the sake of the story. For example if you got Anders killed in Awakening he still appears in DA2.

In dragon age origins, what is the best armour and 2h weapon i can get for a warrior?

I just got the game and im playing a warrior. i know how to get Dragon Plate Armour. Im a Little Confused on how to get all the Juggernut armour. And i also dont know whats the best 2h weapon for a beserker. im also Templar as another specialization. so lemme know plz and thank you.In dragon age origins, what is the best armour and 2h weapon i can get for a warrior?
Fist off if you don't mind spoilers then it's ok to read and look for info on games. ok Juggernaut armor is found in the Braecilian Forest in some tombs you will find in the road, the first one to start that quest is in the northeast part of the forest, u'll find it fast, I also suggest unless you are high lever by then to put the game on an easier mode, because the 3 tombs in the forest are guarded by a Revenant and a small army of skeletons which will beat ur hide. The last piece is the chest part, and its a bit trickier, its inside the Forest Ruins and it involves an easy puzzle to get inside its location. As for the 2h weapons, it depends on what you like (swords, mauls, or axes) but the best 2h swords u can get without DLC are Yusaris wich is in the mage's tower (look on google for the procces because it'll make the answer even longer) and the other one is in Orzamar castle before you choose a king, its called Ageless and also look on google or youtube. Another armor to looak at is the Effort set, its located in the Deep Road of Orzamar and you need the dog to look for the helmet, you send him to look around and he brings it to you, other set is the Legion set also in the Deep Roads, all those are easy to find, oh also for me the Yusaris was better overall because i didn't have DLC and Ageless will need DLC in order for it to have slots and the perks it has arent that special anyways, so if you don't have DLC your best bet is Yusaris and whatever armor of those afore mentioned. i didnt like dragonbone armor so i used Juggernaut for dragons and Effort for other beasties. (sorry for long answer), but yeah you can find all this info looking around in google and youtube. In dragon age origins, what is the best armour and 2h weapon i can get for a warrior?
Best armor would be the Dragon Plate which you get from Wade after killing the High Dragon and getting the materials. The Juggernaught armor is found from the gravestones in the forest which you kill Revenants then you will enter the werewolves den and get the other pieces in there. The best 2H weapons is the sword you get in the end from killing Loghain's daughter.

  • In Dragon Age: Origins, how do I unlock the Blood Mage specialization? And how do I earn specialization points?

I'm playing Dragon Age, and I can't figure out how to unlock the blood mage specialization, nor can I figure out how to earn any specialization points. Can anybody help me?In Dragon Age: Origins, how do I unlock the Blood Mage specialization? And how do I earn specialization points?
When you are doing the Redcliff mission, and you have to battle the demon that has taken over Connor, choose to instead go into the Fade and battle the demon there (either by using Blood Magic to sacrifice someone to enter the Fade, or by talking to the Circle of Magi to have them perform the ritual without the blood sacrifice). Once there, talk to the demon after several fights, and ask for training from the demon. Note that you must be a mage and go to fight the demon yourself, because no one else you send will talk to the demon enough to get the training.

As for specialization points, you get them at preset levels. Your character gets them at 7 and 14 (though if you play Awakening, you get another one at level 22). Most other characters only get one point at 14, since most of them already have a specialization (plus the extra one from Awakening). Some characters never get a specialization point because of their uniqueness (Shale and the dog are the only two I can think of right now).In Dragon Age: Origins, how do I unlock the Blood Mage specialization? And how do I earn specialization points?
When you go into the Dreamworld, there's a demon there that can unlock it for you. Just don't kill the Demon and ask for special abilities or something on that line. Then when you leave the world you'll have the ability.

I have only the basic game on the X Box 360 and would like to play more. I see that there are some DLCs and also Dragon Age Origins: Awakening.

Do any of the DLCs come in Awakening? Each of the DLCs is a few æ‹¢, so if I get all them and the expansion it will cost me as much as the full game all over again! Is there any other way?

    What have other people done?

ThanksCan someone explain to me the Dragon Age: Origins expansions please?
Awakening is the one which is a must have. You continue your warden and some of the plot lines carry over, depending on how you ended the Origins quests.

The other DLC are kind of a mixed bag. Return to Ostagar is good for King Cailan's Armor and Duncan's swords. Bit of fighting, but nothing too strenuous. It's additional story for the characters to work through the death of Duncan and Cailan.

Warden's Keep is another must have. You travel to what was once a Grey Warden stronghold in Ferelden and take it back from a Fade demon. If you solve the puzzle, you will also net yourself a set of Warden Commander's armor, which looks snazzy, and a party chest that can hold things that you don't want to drag around in inventory.

Stone prisoner gives you a new companion and some good quests. Shale is not a companion I use in combat often, but she's fun in dialog.

After that, the DLC kinda goes downhill. I was rather disappointed in being unable to use either my Origins or Awakenings crew in the remaining DLC modules. It lost some of the neatness of the game by doing that. As a result, the DLC I mention above are excellent for play before you finish Origins. Stone Prisoner quests are scattered here and there, and Ostagar/Warden's keep will give you good items for the end game. Can someone explain to me the Dragon Age: Origins expansions please?
They recently released the Ultimate edition which contains the original game, the expansions, and all the DLC. You could sell your game and then buy the ultimate edition. Or, you can read the descriptions and just pick the ones you like the best. They aren't all worth playing. I would at least buy the Awakening expansion and the Stone Prisoner DLC.Can someone explain to me the Dragon Age: Origins expansions please?

Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?

I have started my 3rd character on Dragon Age. I'm a male human noble warrior level 5 or 6 (i can't remember at the moment) and I'm at Ostagar right before the tower of Ishal. I have my original armour that I had since the beginning. I'm wondering if it's possible to play through the game with this same armour, only upgrading sword and shield and attributes. Any sort of info is appreciated.Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?
    Sure that works.

If you're not tanking like they said... Heck. Go spartan, bro. Sword, shield, boots, and helm!

Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?
Theres nothing stoppping you, no, it just makes the game more difficult at times, as some of the armor and clothes can give pretty handy bonuses. To compensate for the lack of armor (if this is how you are choosing to play) you'll definately want to level your character as high as you can, and avoid some of the more difficult parts of the storyline until you are much higher level.
If you don't consider tanking with your character, then you probably don't need to upgrade your armor much. Some extra stats are nice but they don't really make a big difference.Possible to play through Dragon Age: Origins with just one set of armour?
i don't see why not, as long as you compensate by increasing your constitution and strength and have loads of health potions.

What decisions in Dragon Age: Origins change Dragon Age 2?

Is there anything big? What decisions in Dragon Age: Origins change Dragon Age 2?
There really aren't any big changes. Some choices will be mentioned in dialogue or codex entries, there are a couple of cameos, and you might see a few quests play out a bit differently. For example what you chose to do with Alistair will change how he shows up in the game. Or if you import a save using a Dalish warden Merrill will mention knowing him/her. It's mostly just little things like that.

I was just wondering... I'm close to beating the game, and I'm a female elf rouge. Alistair is my romantic interest, and I'm thinking about making him king, but I don't want him to marry Anora. So, if I don't make him king, is it possible for us to get married? If so, will he be in Dragon Age II with my character? I'm just a little curious C:Can your character in Dragon Age Origins be in Dragon Age II?
The only time the DA:O character is mentioned is a few times, and they are very minor. Your character does not appear in Dragon Age II, but Alistair will mention the DA:O character.

In video game Dragon Age Origins one of the characters says "But now I've sidetracked us. Let's move on."?

In video game Dragon Age Origins one of the characters says "But now I've sidetracked us. Let's move on."? Should he or should he not have said that considering that game setting is something close to medieval age? Does the verb "sidetrack" originate from railroads? (I don't know, cause English is not my native language)In video game Dragon Age Origins one of the characters says "But now I've sidetracked us. Let's move on."?
Yes, it does have a railroad origin. The Online Etymology Dictionary gives 1889 as the first usage with this meaning.
    http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?sear…

So if the characters are supposed to be speaking a medieval version of English, then this is what we would call an "anachronism", something that does not fit the time period. On the other hand, if they really were speaking a medieval version of English, players wouldn't be able to understand them. I suspect that all of their dialogue is 20th-21st century English.

Dragon Age Origins Character Creation Help?

I have been playing Dragon Age Origins for a while but can't seem to be happy with the charcters i've made and i am starting to get bored replaying the same old Origins Storylines and Ostagar Quests. Any help on good Talents/Specs/Class/Race Combos that will hopefully keep me interested in my character and wanting to use him to complete the game.Dragon Age Origins Character Creation Help?
My favorite origin is the mage and the city elf. Mages are also in my opinion the most fun class to play. My favorite party setup is three mages and a tank, you can pretty much take down anything on any difficulty in a couple of minutes. Try using the death, entropy, and blood magic trees for your character.

The city elf has some big decisions you can make that will impact the future of the game and you have the oppressed minority angle for role playing. I would choose a dual wield rogue for that origin. Once you have high enough dexterity you can wield two full sized swords which makes you an amazing damage dealer.Dragon Age Origins Character Creation Help?
Create a chick character. Do you really want to spend your time staring at some animated dude...? It at least gives you the opportunity to spend some time with a girl...Dragon Age Origins Character Creation Help?
If you get bored of the same ol same ol then you can download a mod. I have just recently downloaded a mod from Dragon Age Nexus (google it) which allowed you to become a Dalish Mage. Sure the story is the same but the feeling sure isn't.
I've played through (partly and fully) several times - the character I liked the most and had the most fun with was a mage with arcane warrior and spirit healer specializations. I liked being a spirit healer so I wouldn't have to cart Wynne with me wherever I went, and arcane warrior allows you to join the melee when the time is right. It's kind of like a best of both worlds - you can control the battle from the rear with mage abilities OR get into the fray with you mage talents augmenting your melee prowess.

I have money for 2 games and Bioshock 2 is deff one of them. My friend told me that dragon age was good bcuz I loved oblivion and fallout 3. I love rpgs. Do you think this game is worth the money? Is Dragon Age Origins for the Xbox 360 worth it?
You will ABSOLUTELY FALL IN LOVE WITH DRAGON AGE ORIGINS!!! Obviously im biased, do what you want, but DA will have you hooked and the story is like you are watching an amazing movie but yet you control the decisions which of course, have consequences.

The game will leave you wanting more and more which is why they are continueing to add DLC and eventually a sequel. By the way, my favorite game of all time before this was Oblivion, just get it man,Is Dragon Age Origins for the Xbox 360 worth it?
Dude do yourself the favor of getting this game, it is the best RPG I have played in like forever. It's depth and scope is amazing and you can play it through like six times and not have the same story. DO IT!

What is a good graphics card and psu for Dragon Age Origins?

My psu is too weak to handle most of the modern graphics cards and I need both in order to run Dragon Age at better than lowest settings. I'm on a budget of around $150-$200.What is a good graphics card and psu for Dragon Age Origins?
for that price you could get an Nvidia GTS 250, it retails at about an average of 120-150$, thats more than enough to run that game at full blast with all settings on high. If you want something cheaper you could go for an Nvidia 8800GT( my card) and that works just fine with almost all recent PC titles dragon age included. As for a psu you should be fine with 500watt psu( also what i have) but if you can try to get a more powerful one. I think you should get the GTS 250, its a good card at an affordable price also it only requires 450watt psu at minimum.

After getting burning man form in dragon age origins do I take the fade pedestal or what do I do xbox 360?

This is right after you get the burning man form in dragon age origins (Xbox 360) what do I do to get the golem form do I take the fade pedestal or what? After getting burning man form in dragon age origins do I take the fade pedestal or what do I do xbox 360?
Yeah you can take the pedestal. The burning man form just allows you to run through fire, which will be useful as certain points in the fade. Eventually, you're going to have to use all your forms to explore the entire area, and you'll likely visit some places more than once. After getting burning man form in dragon age origins do I take the fade pedestal or what do I do xbox 360?
You can physically do every one of the areas except the last one w/ just the rat form. Basically just clear all the levels aside the last one (Templar's revenge or something to that effect) - then go do the last one. You can go back through and use each form to get the stat bonuses, but they are not required by a long shot.

Is Dragon Age Origins a stand alone game or an expansion to a different one?

Question is for the game on PS3. And also is it anything like Oblivion? I purchased Dragon's Souls thinking it was, but it was really different. Any other comments about the game are appriciated too!Is Dragon Age Origins a stand alone game or an expansion to a different one?
Dragon Age Origins is a stand alone game that is unrelated to any other game currently. There are a number of expansions and add-ons to Origins, as well as Dragon Age 2 coming out in just over 2 months.

It is somewhat like Oblivion, but not nearly as open, since you are restricted to set areas when you are exploring. However, it makes up for this because the story can be a bit deeper since you can't have the "go anywhere do anything" approach. The game is more like the Mass Effect series. All in all, I like the game, but it may or may not suit you.
It's stand-alone. The combat system is kind of a mix between D%26amp;D and KOTR(real-time with pausing to command). It's pretty different from Oblivion. As Mr said, the rest of the game is pretty similar to Mass Effect. So basically just imagine a Fantasy Mass Effect with a KOTR battle system and you've got DAO.Is Dragon Age Origins a stand alone game or an expansion to a different one?
Dragon Age isn't like oblivion, it plays more like a single player WoW, only you control everyone in your party. it's not an expansion either, just make sure you don't get "dragon age origins: awakening" because the covers look almost the same, awakening is an expansion to origins.
I have the game for the 360 and you can purchase in-game content. Its not like Oblivion because you control a party but there are similar aspects to it like open-commuication with npc's, classes are the same (rogue, warrior, mage) and you do quests. Is Dragon Age Origins a stand alone game or an expansion to a different one?
dao is far from obivlion i would recommend checking you tube vids for some of the game play videos

Dragon Age Origins Tricky Tips n' Hints for Players

by Chris Cacheux // ccacheux (@7) kendall (D0T) edu

    Last Updated December 6, 2009

These are just a few things a found through my gameplay, thought I could post

them as tips for other Dragon Age players.

[] None of the "missions" reset themselves or go fubar if you leave halfway

through, so don't be afraid to back out, hit the camp to heal injuries, hop

around a couple locations to restock on healing potions, and then come back and

finish the job. The one exception so far, is the circle of mages tower, which

    locks behind you.

[] Leliana, the third (human) addition to your crew, is pretty good with both

lockpicking and petty theft, so unless you really want all the goodies in

Ostagar (and your origin story) you can ignore theft and lockpicking for your

    character.

[] You should absolutely ignore herbalism for your main character. It has no

effect on your ability to use potions, only create them. Let another party

member handle the brewing and stay focused on combat and coercion.

[] If you are playing a rogue with Stealth talent under your belt, take traps.

It will open up a lot of pre-fight possibilities, like making Morrigan hold her

Position down the hall, then leaving a gauntlet of snares and bombs to slow

down the charging hordes. Then sneak up to an enemy, drop a claw trap at his

feet, and then backstab him. The claw trap should give you enough time to lead

him and his buddies toward Morrigan without taking too much of a beating, then

let your traps and her spells drop 'em for good.

[] Although the game gives you the option, DO NOT start loading up your

characters with alternate weapon sets. Strength is useless in ranged combat,

and archers don't have the armor or the hit points to "stand-and-bang", and

mages just suck at everything that isn't magic. You are much better off having

each character pick a role and stick with it, developing a well rounded team

    instead of well rounded fighters.

[] The only exception is Leliana (the third human addition to the party). Give

her a pair of decent daggers as alternates and enough talent boosts to make her

better thyan useless with them, just in case she winds up being the last one

standing. All the other characters excel in close combat anyway, so if they are

left just run up and bash 'em.

[] Make sure you hit up the quartermaster in Ostagar both before and after you

enter the Wilds. Each time you do, he will have a backpack for sale for a

little over 50 silvers. This is a great opportunity to boost your inventory

capacity, since after you leave Ostagar you won't find another backpack cheaper

than six gold (at least I haven't).

[] Horde ice arrows. you will find these readily enoch throughout the game, but

against most enemies they don't make much of a difference. In a few key

battles, though, they can take an archer from being strictly support to being a

    serious offensive player.

[] Although the game allows you to preset strategies for your allies, DO NOT

rely on them. Allies with a lot of tricks up their sleeves may just use them

redundantly on the same enemy. There is no point in stunning a soldier that is

already knocked down or frozen. Then when you need those abillities, you find

    yourself stuck with cool-down times.

[] Other than getting Morrigan to like you and picking up the reaver spec,

there doesn't seem to be much benefit to being a prick. It's an option if you

want it, but be warned that your healer, human shield/mage detterent, and your

only useful archer will not approve and may leave the party.

[] The best way to make lots of money is to steal it -- plain and simple. Have

Leliana go into town with you and pickpocket everybody. Barring a fight or two

with the guards in Denerim, there seem to be no consequences at all to your

thievery, regardless of whether or not you get caught, so enjoy yourself, and

    buy some decent armor.

[] Remember that enemies will attack whoever they see as the biggest, immediate

threat, and that they can bull their way past your front line fighters to your

heavy hitting, glass-jawed mage if they so choose to.

[] Plan accordingly: while coating a weapon in poison has been marginally

helpful to me, you can only use "grenades" if you train up the poison skill.

These can be a cheap, effective way to give any party member AoE capabilities,

    so keep them in mind.

Thats about all I can think of right now, hope they help someone. How to own at Dragon Age Origins?
Alex gave great advice. My 2 cents: distributing your skill points are key!

If your a warrior, stick with STR and DEX (contrary to other rpg's like neverwinter nights et. CON is not as important.played through 6 times never touched my CON, never had any prob's)

you do get 20 free skill points by the time you finish the fade, so they help.

Rogues stick with DEX and CUN, mage obviously Will and Magic

Also, your specialization choices are a factor as well, depending on your class

    enjoy the game

Dragon Age Origins items, Other items in menu, are they used for anything?

In the Dragon Age Origins inventory you have the tab for 'other' items. Items such as gifts, gems, and other random stuff you might pick up. I know what gifts are for, but what about the gems, chalices, carpet, vase, vellum, etc. Are those items beneficial at some time in the game other than using them to sell for money?Dragon Age Origins items, Other items in menu, are they used for anything?
I had been wondering the same thing. I've got about 20 hours into the game so far.

I'm not completely certain, so if im wrong I do apologize; but I think items like vases, carpets, or wolf pelts are only there to sell to merchants for gold. Gems I believe at some point you can use for enchanting items or enchanting the gem itself so you can equip it, I dont know if its a power or upgraded power that one of your characters get, or if its only possible from an npc. Vellum (which i found alot of) and other things like that, I guess keep a couple for a while in case a quest pops up relating to it, as I just had a Dragon Scale quest and Organs from enemies (or something like that) occur and I already had a few, so it saved me time. Hope that helps.

What is so cool about Dragon Age Origins?

I just want to know why Dragon Age Origins is so cool and amazon, before anybody could say look it up on google I just want to hear the answer you put down first. What is so cool about Dragon Age Origins?
Dubbed the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate is certainly an easy way to heap the pressure and expectations surrounding BioWare's Dragon Age: Origin. Striking out on their own without the comfort of a Dungeons %26amp; Dragons ruleset this time around, Dragon Age begins with the origin of each of the six different character combinations featured in the game, which serves as a prelude as to how the player sees the world and how the world sees the player.

TVG sat down with lead designer Mike Laidlaw to discover more about the game.

Dragon Age: Origins is the spiritual successor to other BioWare titles?

Yes, that's absolutely correct, Baldur's Gate 1 and Baldur's Gate 2, and to a lesser extent Neverwinter Nights as well. But when we think about the Baldur's Gate series... Origins is really a double-entendre, it's kind of the origins of BioWare. What is so cool about Dragon Age Origins?
Up until the late 2000's, scientists were baffled as to the origins of Dragon Age Origins. Years of debate have so far produced no results or further insight. Some say it came from the Netherlands. Some even proclaim it is not of this world. It was only until, in late 2009, on a obscure social networking site called yahoo answers, did a young member declare that it was so Amazon, and the world was at peace.

What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?

I know, sounds like a silly question. It's similar to one I had a few weeks ago about Mass Effect 2.

Is Dragon Age: Origins similar to Mass Effect 2 in the sense that you are told where to do missions etc. or is it more like Oblivion and Fallout where you're thrust into an open world with no idea what to do?What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
It pretty much tells you what to do, just not in what order to do it XD so it can be confusing if you don't know where your going, though you can just look it up online and it will tell you where to go.

:D if you do get it! Heres a trick to level up all the way ~%26lt;3 , when your first mission (don't worry i wont go too far into detail so its not a spoiler) but for your first mission at the beginning at the camp, just get the blood, (you'll find out) and once you just get the blood go back and talk to the guy and he'll give you the exp and tell you to go get the scrolls, but you can just talk to him over and over till your leveled all the way up! XD sure some things can still kill you very easily but its nice if you get lost so you wont die as fast :)
It's sort of a mixture really, it's created by the same people as Mass Effect (BioWare) so you'll find a lot of similarities within the two games.

Personally I think it's a lot more open world than Mass Effect; you develop your character traits a lot more and the storyline isn't as linear. Also as you can choose the sort of character you are, there is hours of gameplay available and a different story each time depending on choices you make.

If you haven't bought it already then it's definately worth the look. What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
The gameplay is more like World Of Warcraft in the fighting style aspects of it. (You pick a target, hit attack, and every so often your character will attack.) But it has a RTS feel in the sense you can switch between all of your party members then tell them what to do.

The game tells you where to go and if you play through all the quests and side quests in the game you'll get around 50+ hrs in it.

    Pros:

    1) Its a really fun game and has a great story.

    2)Classic RPG style

3)Multiple introductions actually add to your characters story

    Cons:

1)When the game ends it literally ends (unless you buy downladable content)

2)Every enemy you kill you'll never be able to fight again in that character profile

3)You'll end the game being lvl 20 something

Good game for $30 but if you're getting it I'd get the one with extra content because beating the game and working on your character for so long to just have it all end is dissapointing.
It goes back to the origins of BioWare RPGs. On PC and Mac the gameplay is similar to Baldur's Gate and some MMORPG's. You have an action bar with skills and you click on them to use them. You can pause the game and zoom out for a strategic overview.

The structure is very similar to other BioWare games. It's not open ended like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3. Instead you have a map screen and click where you want to go. Combat is not like Mass Effect, Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls. Your main quest is very straightforward so there's no getting lost. What kind of RPG is Dragon Age: Origins?
It's similar to Mass Effect (ME) but more so to Bioware's previous game, Knights of the Old Republic. You're told to do main missions (in any order you wish) and you can pick up a number of side missions on the way. It's not nearly as open world as Oblivion or Fallout where you can walk for hours in one direction but there are still quite a few places to explore.

I heartily recommend it, all the same.
More like Mass Effect series, definitely.

But be warned; this game is not only long, but has repulsive, TERRIBLE gameplay! The story is cool, for the most part, but I lost a bit of my soul going through this lame adventure. Just look up dialogues on youtube and save yourself the torture.
    FPS!

Dragon Age Origins (360) can you continue after finishing the main story?

I have just completed Dragon Age Origins, and noticed that you can not travel to any areas after completion... only to the DLC areas, I was wondering if there is any way to continue on with the game as the same character. Also, can you continue and go to any area if you purchase the DLC?

ThanksDragon Age Origins (360) can you continue after finishing the main story?
Once you've completed the game to the epilogue, it's done for good. You either need to start a new character, or re-load a save from before you finished the game. But, in March there will be an expansion that will let you continue your old characters where you left off after the end of the game.

I've been looking into Dragon Age: Origins for the PC lately. It's gameplay looks somewhat familiar to Guild Wars with the skills and everything. Is this true?Is the gameplay in Dragon Age: Origins (PC) comparable to Guild Wars?
Game play and skills in Dragon Age: Origins is not similar to GW. You cannot buy new skills, you learn them as you level up. You can stop the battles to set up your companions to attack in certain ways. There are tactics that you can set up for your companions as well, to make them perform certain actions or take potions, use items, etc, when they encounter enemies or their health/mana gets low. There is also no Multiplayer in DA:O, it is a single player game onlyIs the gameplay in Dragon Age: Origins (PC) comparable to Guild Wars?
I would suggest either World of Warcraft when cataclysm comes out or Lord of the Rings Online.

For me it's Dragon Age because It's looks more medieval which I like and It's looks a lot more fun to play than mass effect and I know mass effect is a amazing game but I like Dragon age better because It's basically Dungeons %26amp; Dragons kind of Game mixes with the Lord of the Rings and you get Dragon Age .Between Dragon Age Origins %26amp; Mass effect Which one Do you think is the better Game of the two?
I much prefer Mass Effect. Dragon Age is a very good game but suffers from a shallow uninteresting storyline and even less interesting companion characters.Between Dragon Age Origins %26amp; Mass effect Which one Do you think is the better Game of the two?
mass effect 1 and 2 are insanely good, i liked both alot more than dragon age origins

Is there a filter for games like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins?

I was just wondering, because I heard that Mass Effect 2 has really bad language and some questionable scenes, along with Dragon Age. Is there any way to skip these scenes or turn down the language? Thanks to everyone who answers! Is there a filter for games like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins?
Mass Effect 2 has very little in the way of bad language. I can recall only a couple of places where a character drops the F bomb, and a small handful of S word moments. There is no nudity (there was the one scene in Mass Effect, but it was not full OR frontal) in either game, and in ME2, the scenes are implied, or just tender, but no explicit romances.

In DAO, there is no nudity, but there is an underwear scene or two and clearly implied sex. You can turn off the blood splatter, but its on by default: DAO characters spend a great deal of time covered in blood otherwise.

If there is a mod that simply turns off the romance scenes, you might find one at the Dragon Age Nexus (google it). Fair warning: The Nexus also contains mods to dial UP the sex scenes, and while there is no accidental way to install one rather than the other, don't click on any of the sex mod pictures and complain that I sent you to a DAO pr0n site :PIs there a filter for games like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins?
    There is no language filter.

There are no questionable scenes. Fox News once exaggerated by saying Mass Effect is a game with full frontal nudity and having sex with anyone you meet. This news report had only one purpose and that was to sell some psychologist's book. They later apologized for this lie. You only see a sex scene if you want to pursue a relationship with the characters. The sexual content is very tame so you shouldn't worry about that. The sequel, Mass Effect 2, is even tamer when it comes to sex scenes. All sex scenes are optional. You don't want them, you won't see them.

The "bad language" is the usual. People saying F-words and S-words but that's pretty much it. It's not like there are any people who still haven't heard any of those words before. Swear words are pretty rare and nothing extraordinary.

Dragon Age is a bloody game. There is some intense and graphis violence. That's why it got a mature rating after all. The sex scenes leave a lot to the imagination. The characters have sex with their clothes on.

Violence in Mass Effect 2 isn't more intense than any other M-rated game.

  • Can you still download the Blood Dragon Armour in Dragon Age: Origins?

i recently downloaded the wardens thing and got some good armour from that. but id really like to get the Blood Dragon armour. i dont know which download it is or if i can even still do that. if you know which download it is please let me know. thanks. Can you still download the Blood Dragon Armour in Dragon Age: Origins?
The blood dragon armor is included with the collector's edition. I think the time period to download it has already expired, or it's about to expire soon, at least for the PS3 version anyway. It stinks that you have have a limited time period to download it.Can you still download the Blood Dragon Armour in Dragon Age: Origins?
    i dont think so

Who are the options for love interest in Dragon Age: Origins.?

In dragon age origins, i know there is at least one option for love interest. I was wondering if there was another as well. Also, i was wondering if these are still available if your character is a girl. Please don't tell me anything besides this, i don't want to ruin the game. Just how many options and their names please :)

Thank You!!!Who are the options for love interest in Dragon Age: Origins.?
For a male character you can engage in romance with Zevran, Leliana or Morrigan.

For a female character your options are Alastair, Zevran or Leliana.

There are "professionals" in the Pearl in Denerim who provide Adult Services.

If you choose the Human Noble origin you can engage in a brief relationship with an Elvish Handmade or a young Noble.

If you choose dwarvish noble you can engage in an encounter with 1 or 2 dwarvish ladies. Both that and the above option don't show anything on screen, its simply implied.

I think that's about everybody you could possibly Sex Up in the game.Who are the options for love interest in Dragon Age: Origins.?
The options are: Alistiar,Morrigan,Zevran,LelIana. Have fun playing the game,I know I did ^^

I'm looking at dragons age origins and I was wondering if there was a huge amount of cussing and swearing. If so can it be filtered or not?Is there a lot of cussing in the game dragon age origins? If so can it be filtered?
There are only a few times where someone uses a curse word. 99% of the time the language is clean. As far as I know you can't filter it though. Is there a lot of cussing in the game dragon age origins? If so can it be filtered?
I've been playing it for a while and haven't noticed any swearing. I suspect if you look at the game's rating you'll be able to tell more easily. I'm pretty sure there's no way to filter it.

Is dragon age origins Awakening a good game?

So Im looking for a good new game to get on my 360 and i come across dragon age origins Awakening. and im kinda wondering if its a free world game to like fall out 3 type free world game.Is dragon age origins Awakening a good game?
It is not a free world game like fallout.

The game "Dragon Age: Origins" has several locations you can visit freely on a map. But once you've finished an area, there is little to nothing left to do there. New quests can bring you to old areas but nothing is really going on.

Each location on the map is pretty straight forward. There is an entrance and you follow the path until you reach the exit. Several corridors can lead you to dead ends with good loot or hidden side quest objectives, but its basically a one-way road at every location.

Dragon Age Origins: Awakening is an expansion of the original. Meaning you have to have purchased the first game to expand from. You can import your character or build a super strong new character (Instant lvl 19) from scratch. The maps and locations here are even MORE straight forward and less areas to visit.

The game is fun to play and looks great. Like fallout, there is no online multiplayer. They give you the freedom to wear 100s of different armors and wield many weapons.

Exploring is encouraged so you don't miss anything because some side quests lead to really great looking bosses that you may have missed and never have even known about.

Ultimately-- its not a free roam like fallout. I wouldn't get Origins OR the expansion "Awakening" if you want a fallout quality game.

I love fallout and I love Dragon age- But I couldn't put them in the same category of fun.Is dragon age origins Awakening a good game?
awakening is just an expansion to dragon age

the game is ******* awsome but gay stuff about it is

theres no free roam, cant go back to places u been to kill enemies to lvl cause they dont respawn, and once u beat the game its over (awakening continues on like how the end of fallout3 starts again with broken steel)

Is dragon age origins a good game?

I have always been into rpgs. But I have never found one that I liked until fable 2. It was an awesome game, but its way too short. Only like 12 hours of story mode. But i hear dragon age origins has somewhere around 100 hours.

    How is this game?

    How big is the world?

Does it have online or co-op?Is dragon age origins a good game?
    The game is okay.

    The world is pretty big.

There is no online or co-op.
Took me roughly 60 hours through one storyline (Human Noble). There's 6 storyline "Origins" to play through, and numerous sidequests. You could probably double the time if you raised the combat difficulty too.

It's not the most amazing graphic-wise, but it does the job (think KOTOR with improved textures), and nearly every line of dialogue is voiced.

The world is quite large, but there's no "overworld" exploration. Basically you can choose where you want to go ala Baldur's Gate 2, with chances of random encounters while crossing the world map.

No online or co-op, unless you count the ingame marketplace. You have multiple party members, though. With the amount of strategy needed for higher difficulties, I'd dare to say that multiplayer would hinder the experience.

In my opinion, it's one of the best story experiences available. Is dragon age origins a good game?
the game is great, world is fairly big, and there is no online or co-op but what i dont get is why poeple are taking so long to beat it i did every possible thing you can do in one playthrough in 25 hours on hard, ya the game is long if you play it like 3 times but alot of other rpg's are 50+ hours through one playthugh no matter how fast you go.so if your a slow gamer like every other person but me whos played this then you should get 100 hours out of it.
I like it because I'm a big medieval buff

How to leave with Sten in Dragon Age Origins?

On the Dragon Age wikia, it says that it's possible to travel with Sten to Seheron end-game. Is there anything I need to do other than assure his approval is all the way up and that I get him his sword Asala? Do I need to avoid high approval/romances with other characters or have to do certain quests in specific ways? etc. :)

Thanks. How to leave with Sten in Dragon Age Origins?
At the end of the game if you survive you get to talk to all of your party members before the epilogue. If Sten is at high approval you can talk to him about going to Seheron. I think you can't be in a romance with anyone or have made yourself king/queen. These choices will override him.

If you play Awakening or even import that save in to DA2 any relationship you had with Sten isn't acknowledged at all. This choice doesn't really have any long term payoff.

Dragon Age Origins: Would I have more fun playing thru it b4 or after downloading the DLC?

So I just bought Dragon Age Origins and I'm playing through it as a Warrior going to be a Champion then Paladin. I just finished all the quests in Lothering and I'm at the camp. At this point I started thinking: would I have more fun and save time if I downloaded the Downloadable Content expansion packs before or after I play through the entire campaign (without the expansion packs)?Dragon Age Origins: Would I have more fun playing thru it b4 or after downloading the DLC?
Its all up to you man. I played through once and then replayed it all and it was still just as fun but then again you still have to run through the entire game (even the parts you find boring) just to mix in some new items that will seem like they arent worth it because you already know how everything is supposed to go and its not much of a challenge. its like adding a few new skills to a game that you already know how to beat..... i personally wish i would have restarted right away after getting the dlc since i was only about 1/3 finished. GL and have fun!!!Dragon Age Origins: Would I have more fun playing thru it b4 or after downloading the DLC?
I would get the DLC that applies to Origins now if you plan on buying it anyway. Warden's Keep, The Stone Prisoner, and Return to Ostagar fit nicely in to the main plotline. The rest are separate campaigns and would be best to buy after you finish Origins.

Does a basic, new copy of Dragon Age: Origins come with Shale and the Blood Dragon armor?

My friend bought the collectors edition a while back and got these two pieces of content, but I looked online and it said that you just have to have a new copy to get these two. Can the new copy be basic?I just bought Dragon Age online (a new copy) I'd really like to have that armor for Mass Effect 2.Does a basic, new copy of Dragon Age: Origins come with Shale and the Blood Dragon armor?
It does come with both codes...i bought the regular edition from Walmart right after christmas and i got the code Shale on one side and on the other side was the code for the armor on Mass Effect 2..which i dont even play...if it turns out that it would cost extra to get this armor, message me and ill give you my code...because it is highly unlikely that i will ever choose to play that game...Does a basic, new copy of Dragon Age: Origins come with Shale and the Blood Dragon armor?
A new copy(doesn't matter which version) should come with the code for Shale (saving you 1200 Microsoft points, or at least it cost that much to buy that download by itself), however you will not likely get the Blood Dragon armor. The armor was a pre-order bonus and since most of the Collector's Editions of the game was supposed to be for pre-order only (the place your friend got it from might have had a few copies that didn't get pre-ordered or didn't get picked up for a pre-order), so it's not likely you'll be able to find the armor now. You could buy it separately on eBay or somewhere, but people on there usually charge outrageous prices for the codes.

  • What is the best class in dragon age origins?

I was planning on getting dragon Age 2 and Then i decided to get this what is the best class to start with and best race??What is the best class in dragon age origins?
In dragon age origins the classes are somewhat unbalanced compared to mage but this is barely noticeable.

Mages can be very diverse thanks to their abundance of skill choices

An Elven Mage will get you a headstart on the mage build because of the elves +2 willpower.

Rouge is hm......Rouge is more for if you want to do skills that dint have to apply to fighting. A high cunning rouge can talk their way out of 99% of all situations if they have Master Coercion and back themselves up in battle. A rouge with a bow is better than a rouge with dual weapons to me =/.

Warriors are all about the battles.

The best warriors are Shield users They have the right balance of defense and strength. If you want to use dual weapons, then the warrior is a lot easier than the rouge that uses dual weapons.

Personally, I think the best class depends on your style of game play. The strong sword wielding warrior? The quick witted speedy rouge? The spell-slinging mage? This choice depends on your taste...What is the best class in dragon age origins?
I thought mages were the most fun to play in Origins. You can do a lot of damage and be more creative in how you build your character. My second favorite would be rogues. Warriors are fine too and are easier to figure out, but their abilities aren't all that interesting.

Race doesn't really matter in terms of stats. I think elves are interesting though because you are an oppressed minority. The female city elf is my favorite origin. What is the best class in dragon age origins?
I would go with mage first cause their are alot of good powers that you can havebut if your worried aboout open doors and chests go with the rogue as for the class it doesnt matter
    rouge duh

Dragon age origins or dragon age 2?

I'm looking to buy one of the dragon age games but am not sure which one to buy dragon age origins or skip that one and go straight to dragon age 2... please help me decide!Dragon age origins or dragon age 2?
I have not played Dragon age origins but i am playing Dragon age 2. Very descent and clean game. One problem is stages are repetitive. Otherwise good story, nice graphics. More importantly it consumes mid resources. Mine runs in high graphics. If u have not played RPG before i will recommend this game.
Well i would suggest first buying Dragon Age: Origins. then The expansion Awakening, then after that Dragon age 2. Because the story follows up kinda, the actions you take in Origins and Awakening effect your game in Dragon Age 2.

You can also import a saved game from Origins to Awakening and both of them to Dragon age 2.

So really if you want to get the most out of your gaming experience i would recommend to start at the beginning - Origins.

Both area great games, im currently busy with DA 2, Origins provide more choice, as DA 2 is a fixed character plot.

In my opinion if you want a fully based RPG experience go for Origins first.

Hope this helps =)Dragon age origins or dragon age 2?
I haven't played either, but one main difference is that in Origins you can play different races/genders but in Dragon Age 2 you play a fixed character. For me that would make Origins more interesting, but it depends on what you like better.

The Bioware Social Network site has forums for both games, so you should be able to get opinions there to help you decide.
Dragon Age origins is much more diverse.

And check this review of dragon age 2, i know he has a tendency to bash everything, but most of the time he's right.

on dragon age origins i love plate armor and i mean love it man does it look cool but then i love spells sooo much what should i pick and could you give me some build links that include spells and skills.Dragon age origins what is a better choice warrior or mage?
I say that you are better off with a warrior because they are a stronger class and can dish out more damage if you have the right build. all you really need to do is specialize in one part of a warrior either double handed dual blade or sword and shield because the better you are in one class the best attacks you will get also get them to have high strength and dexterity very important for a warrior.

dual blade- is a good fast warrior who can dish out attacks quickly definitely the fastest even when attacking with both blades at same time.

double handed- is a good warrior class but slower but dish out higher damage than the others.

shield- is only good if you want them to be more defensive i would choose one of the others because the damage they deal is so-soDragon age origins what is a better choice warrior or mage?
The mage. That class might be the easiest since most of the spells can attack from adistance and as you level up, the spells become more powerful.

Yes; your main character will be able to learn two specializations over the course of the game. One at level 7, and another at level 14. However, no character will be able to learn more than two specializations during the game.Dragon Age: Origins, can I become an arcane warrior even though I am a blood mage?
of course you can! its actually an achievment... anyways the same way you would become a arcan warrior without your blood magic should still be the same. im not sure how to become one (im a blood mage and shape shifter) butim sure you know how to! good luckDragon Age: Origins, can I become an arcane warrior even though I am a blood mage?
yes, eventually you will have two points (total) to spend in secondary classes.

Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?

I just finished Dragon Age: Origins with most of the DLC's but im getting tired of the multiple controlled party members but i love the skill tree based concept etc

It would be nice if people who has actually played the games answer and just doesnt google they have no idea about.Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?
The Witcher (Enhanced version) was probably the other big recent role player game, and is more recent than things like Baldur's Gate.

Mass Effect was made by the same people as Dragon Age (Bioware), and has generally positive reviews, too. It's more a space thing though, and its sequel is actually due out in just a couple months.Hey, do any of you people know of a game that is like Dragon Age: Origins?
You could get Baldur's Gate (1 or 2). In fact, DA is considered the "spiritual sequel" to BG 2.

Both of these games do however require you to control multiple party-members. But ,I don't know how much you care, as they are 10 years old they do have quite crappy graphics compared to modern games. No problem in my eyes though. Oh, and another great game without control of multiple characters -%26gt; Diablo II. Great game with this skill tree you talk of, maybe not in the same fashion, but still...

If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?

I've been looking into Skyrim but most of what i see reminds me of dragon age origins (which was fun at first but very boring after a while). so to thos who have played both games what do you think? If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?
It depends on what you didn't like. Skyrim gives you a lot more freedom, there is also a much less linear story. You can do anything you want, whenever you want, however you want. But, the game still requires you to make your own fun. You only get out of Skyrim what you put in to it.If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?
Not likely. They are very different but very similar at the same time. If you don't like a bunch of random quest, talking to people, buying and selling etc than I doubt you will like skyrim. Maybe these kind of games aren't your thing dude. Nothing wrong with that. Theres a lot of popular titles I just can't get into.If i didnt like dragon age origins will i like skyrim?
I useally don't like those kinds of games but I got addicted quick still am every one I know who has skyrim loves it. It dose get a little boring only if you do boring things. you need to explore but its really awesome you should try game fly to try it first
Totally it's so much different the only bad part is its so big and the storyline is so amazing so the graphics are like 2009 graphics

Dragon age origins the best spells for a pure damage dealing mage?

I love the game dragon age but I've never exactly been able to build a mage to it's best damage dealing potiential. I hear people say they hit in the 900 with a mage the most I've ever done with one spell is...76. So what are the best spells to be purely a damage dealer?Dragon age origins the best spells for a pure damage dealing mage?
Well first you need to boost the power of your spells to do massive amounts of damage. Spell Might and Spell Wisp boost the power of Spells, not just for damage purposes but also healing and stuff. Also using for example an ice spell on a rage demon would do like 200% damage, because their made of fire or fire based, something like that. Go to dragon age wikia, just google it. They have mage guides, spell combos, mage builds etc.

The first piece of the armor (the chest plate/greaves combo) should appear in your inventory automatically assuming that the download activates correctly, and you downloaded it on the system that you play on. The remaining pieces of the armor should be available from a merchant in your party camp, once you leave the town of Lothering, the first town you arrive at after the battle with the Darkspawn at the ruined fortress of Ostagar (might be spelling the name wrong, but you should get the idea). You don't have to play online for it to activate,I personally know this because I can play the game offline and still keep the armor and have it activate.

Second Q. Is Dragon age: awakening an expansion for origins? if so is it worth it? Are there game damaging bugs in it?

Thanks for answer 1 or both questions. - JohnI have 2 Questions for Dragon Age: Origins. First, Is coercion for both persuasion AND intimidation?See detail?
first question: sorry dont really know how to answer it

second question: awakenings is an expansion of the DAO, you can transfer your save file from DAO so some choices you made in it will be reflected in awakenings.

its worth it just that it doesnt really give you the same thrill as the DAO. But still pretty good for an expansion, took me 10 -15 hours to finish

oh if you do transfer your save over and your original save has items from dlc such as starfang, blood dragon armour or many more, they wont be there, saying that, awakenings doesnt let you bring anything over from the dlc's with the exception of 'return to ostagar', everything else is a no-go

im not sure but i think i say my friend say that there was a patch with DID let you bring the dlc items over but your gonna have look it up yourself

Hope that helped : )I have 2 Questions for Dragon Age: Origins. First, Is coercion for both persuasion AND intimidation?See detail?
I'm pretty sure coercion is also involved in intimidation checks. I have a mage with like 10 strength who passed every one of them, but I had also maxed out coercion. It's the most valuable skill, you should try to max it out early.

Awakening is an expansion, you will need the original game to play. There are lots of little bugs, nothing that will damage your game though. I personally would wait until they release a patch and lower the price.

Is the Intel GMA 950 video card enough to play Dragon Age: Origins On?

I've got Dragon Age:Origins, but whenever I start the game it says Failed To Find Supported Video Card. So, is there any way the Intel GMA 950 video card can be used?Is the Intel GMA 950 video card enough to play Dragon Age: Origins On?
Well first of all the GMA 950 is a fake card that is rreally integrated meaning it is not used for games. That is why people buy a pc than a mac if you game.Or you just buy a macbook pro.The card is just used for entertainment like surfing the web.It just makes it so that you can actually see your screen and what you are doing. Is the Intel GMA 950 video card enough to play Dragon Age: Origins On?
As the game itself says no!

Intel makes IGP, Integrated GPU's on motherboards this allows for some help with playing back video and well it shows the image. But they are never gaming GPU's they always seem to be scraping the bottom of acceptable. The only reason the GMA 3100 came out is because Vista needed DX10 for certain things. For the rest it is weak and slow card and your 950 is quite older and slower.

As you will read and shiver that is simply to slow to even play 5 year old games decently.

So what is your next step I mean you don't buy a great game like dragon age just to look at the box. Well if you have a free PCI-Express/AGP slot then you could buy a videocard. It doesn't has to be be the most expensive if you are willing to spend around $200 then you find very capable video cards that offer good performance for a good price. Even around $150 you are served well! I wouldn't go under $100 as you reach the budget range and those videocards serve the same need as your IGP. The person who does little...

You also will find that your pc goes faster if you add a videocard as the GMA is switched off and doesn't requires memory bandwidth anymore.

There is a reason why gamers loathe IGP's unless it are gamer laptops those come with either ATI or Nvidia GPU's that do perform. I self got one of those mobile GPU's in a decent performance range and yes it works.

Anyhow if you have a laptop you must check if you can even upgrade. If you have a PC then yes you can add a card that does performs.

Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?

I really love all of Bioware's games and many RPG's, but I did not really hear of Dragon Age when it came out. I want to play the original and the sequel but I'd rather not spend too much money. If it was possible, I would just play the sequel if I could understand it. Please help and thank you.Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?
Dragon Age 2, ironically, takes place hundreds of years BEFORE Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Awakening. So, to answer, you do not need to play DA:O to understand DA2. You can, if you want, go to the Dragon Age wiki and catch up on the DA:O storyline to understand the basic idea.

I would still recommend buying Dragon Age: Origins, as it is one of the best Fantasy RPG games ever made.

Dragon Age II is not a direct sequel. It takes place in a different country, you control a different character and the game only occasionally refers to events in the first game. Events from Origins are narrated near the beginning of the game and there's even more narration to fill you in if you don't import a saved file.Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?
You would be able to understand the plot and the setting without too much trouble. DA2 is not a direct sequel, you play a new character and a new storyline. Playing the original would certainly enrich your experience, but it's not necessary.Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?

It would be possible, there might be some mentions going back to Origins that you might not understand in DA2, but you should be to understand most of the game just fine. One thing though, you won't get the bonus of being able to see the results and consequences of your choices in Origins (and it's many expansions) spread out over the ten years of DA2.Do I need to have played Dragon Age: Origins to understand Dragon Age 2?
No ,not necessarily . The DA was about the Grey Wardens and the second is about Hawke and how he and his family escaped lothering and how he became Champion of Kirkwall. Ive read somewhere that DA2 takes place during the same time as Origins, but spans 10 years. So DA is 1 year and DA2 spans another 9 years after. If youve played the demo that came out a few days ago, the characters make references to the grey wardens but not to important. And ya, the beginning part of DA2 is being told by varric some dwaren guy, and he explains what practically happens during origins and who was betrayed and who died. But I really dont think you need to play the first DA since the story and characters are different. hope that helps:)
